NFL Network: NFL Network’s Earning Money From Streaming Earns Money
On Thursday, NFL Network reported that it earned $6.7 million in revenue for its streaming and ad-supported live sports content.
It was the second-biggest revenue stream on NFL Network in 2016, after the NFL Network for the first five weeks of the season.NFL Network was founded in 2011 and now covers the NFL, the NFLPA and the National Football League, and it is owned by Fox.
The NFL Network is the No. 1 network in sports-related revenue for the third straight year and the most-streamed NFL show in the U.S. for the fourth consecutive year.
The network also leads cable-TV in prime-time viewing and in-home viewing.
On Thursday, ESPN reported its streaming revenue increased to $2.5 billion for the year ending Dec. 31.
It is the network’s most profitable year to date.ESPN reported its second-most-streaming year ever with $1.6 billion in total revenue for 2017, a record.
ESPN reported a net loss of $637 million in 2017, the first time the network lost money in three consecutive years.
The company also reported a $5.5 million increase in advertising revenue for ESPN and a $3.5-million decrease in syndication revenue.
ESPN has said it is looking to make a bigger impact with more content.
